Overlap leverages a unique voting mechanism where elected participants resolve tasks fairly. Unlike centralized or wealth-skewed oracles Overlap ensures power stays distributed across all participants. Performance scores guide the system as participants identify skilled contributors to resolve tasks, varying from data validation to dispute outcomes, in a democratic process.

In 2025, Overlap evolved from vision to reality, moving directly from concept to production. Throughout the year we engineered optimized, modular, and cross chain contracts built for long term scalability, paired with a production grade user interface that meets industry standards.

Product Overview
The team behind Overlap has worked tirelessly to build what we believe is the future of oracles and dispute resolution.
We have opted for a robust, low-cost, cross-chain architecture. Overlap consists of core contracts running on both L1 and L2, ready to support plugin modules built by our team and the community.
Below we want to give you an overview of what’s built and what lies ahead, starting with our Core Modules:
Validator Module: In Overlap, community members are elected as validators eligible to resolve tasks. This module handles all validator logic. By hosting it on L1, we ensure a broader security basis and deeper liquidity.
Voting Module: L1 also hosts our voting modules. This is where users elect their preferred validators, helping them climb the eligibility ladder and be assigned more tasks and greater responsibility.
Staking Module: With responsibility comes profit. When you vote for a validator, your vote does not stay frozen in the system. Through our Lido integration, your vote remains productive. When you back a validator, your assets earn liquid ETH from staking, while simultaneously earning a share of the validator’s work. In Overlap, no capital sits idle.
Task Creation Module: We enter L2 with the task creation logic. All queries for validation or data requests are executed on L2. Arbitrum was chosen for its deep liquidity, decentralization, fast finalization, and the support of the Arbitrum community. Users can initiate tasks here, in exchange for a unique NFT certifying the outcome. Plugins supporting automated event execution are in place for immediate action upon resolution.
Resolution Module: This is the private workspace for validators. Voting happens on L2, ensuring validators virtually incur no cost. All voting remains encrypted, ensuring fair and unbiased deliberation.
Info Module: Customized for each user experience. Navigate tasks created by you, assigned to you, or created by others. Explore the current APY for your votes and compare validator performance, commission, eligibility, and history. Everything is open and verifiable in Overlap.
Plugins:
Beyond our core, we are building a library of specialized plugins. These are tools ready to be adopted by the users to help them query Overlap’s truth machine. Guided by community feedback, these plugins will evolve continuously, unlocking new use cases and accelerating Overlap’s adoption in the world. Below we offer an overview of the first set of tools built to support this journey.
RWA Verification: We believe the true potential of Real-World Assets (RWAs) is currently locked behind closed doors and private systems. For tokenization to reach global scale, it requires a layer of transparency that is accessible and verifiable by anyone. To solve this, Overlap has launched the Proof of Authenticity module. By submitting documentation to our decentralized validator network, users receive an independent assessment of validity, in the form of a certificate-bearing NFT.
This decentralized proof is the essential foundation for monetizing RWAs in an open market. We are actively exploring partnerships with DeFi protocols and the deployment of in-house liquidity to support assets certified by Overlap to come into the market.
On-Scan: The team believes that on-chain security should not be a black box. We have designed the On-Scan module to transform how users assess the security and reputation of any address in the ecosystem. By submitting an address to Overlap, users receive an unbiased, multi-factor evaluation, ranging from deep security analysis to liquidity profiles and the deployer’s reputation. We envision On-Scan as the definitive trust-score for the decentralized web, ensuring that every interaction is backed by collective, verifiable intelligence rather than blind faith.
AI: AI agents may be the hype of 2025, but we are building the substance behind them. We see the future of oracles as a merge between the human world and AI agents. The team has taken significant steps toward providing in-house agentic tools that exist in harmony with our core mechanism, safeguarding and enhancing AI-driven data.
Community Plugins: Overlap is modular by design and ready to evolve alongside its users. We are committed to a framework that supports the community’s feedback and creative input. The team behind Overlap pledges to work in parallel with the community to implement ideas that enhance the ecosystem. If you have a vision for a new use case, Overlap is built to bring it to life.
Global Outreach & Engagement
2025 was also about moving beyond the lab and taking our execution to the world. We scaled our presence across major stages, balancing industry-level validation with technical community building:
Paris Blockchain Week 2025: In Paris, we engaged with industry leaders to conduct fit-to-market evaluations and competitor assessments. This went beyond networking. It was a vital period of validation that allowed us to align our solution with institutional standards and establish the foundations to lead the oracle sector.
Devcon & Devconnect 2025 Argentina: In Argentina, we met with the technical heart of the ecosystem. We presented our solution to leading builders across DeFi, security, and the Arbitrum community. These conversations confirmed clear product market fit with complementary protocols. They resulted in new partnerships required to integrate Overlap. We are now ready to build in parallel with some of the most innovative teams in the industry.
Documentation & Developer Resources: Execution requires transparency and accessibility. We have officially released the Overlap Documentation to serve as the blueprint for our ecosystem. Instead of a closed system, we’ve provided a guide that breaks down exactly how the platform works. Users and validators can now look under the hood to see the mechanics of our architecture, seeing exactly how the system functions. We invite you all to explore oiur docs and see the system in action for yourself.
The Road Ahead :
The road ahead moves through our community. Overlap cannot exist without its validators and users. With that, we are excited to announce the start of our on-boarding phase. In a step-by-step process, we will onboard our first validators to register and interact with the protocol. Users can join on a first-come, first-served basis. Becoming a validator allows you to vote, resolve tasks, earn rewards, and help form the decentralized truth.
The initial on-boarding will be followed by a points system for validators, which will be later extended to the users. Overlap is built from the ground up to be decentralized and fair. In its early stages, all operations will be executed using native ETH. We aim to create a self-sustained ecosystem that generates rewards for all its participants, steering away from models that rely on continuous token devaluations.
Points accumulated during early participation will help us shape the path to transition towards true decentralized governance.
